Due to our growth, we are looking for a Country Manager to join us in the development of NW in Sweden.
What you will do
Strategic and Operational Leadership
Establish, structure, and develop NW’s presence and operations in Sweden.
Oversee corporate functions (HR, Finance, Legal, etc.) in coordination with teams in France & Finland and across NW’s Nordic and European operations.
Drive business growth with an entrepreneurial and results-oriented mindset.
Act as NW’s primary representative in Sweden, serving as the key point of contact for local partners, authorities, and customers.
Report directly to the Nordic Managing Director and provide regular updates on business performance, project status, and market conditions.
Contribute to annual budgeting processes and monitor financial performance and expenditures
Business Development & Project Management
Lead business development activities by identifying and pursuing new BESS project opportunities in the Swedish electricity market.
Manage the full lifecycle of project development, from site identification and feasibility to land agreements, permitting, grid connection, and handover to operations.
Supervise and maintain a strong pipeline of projects, including the development of a big volume of distributed storage projects annually.
Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Manage supply chain activities with internal teams and external partners.
Ensure operational excellence, including safety, quality, and environmental standards across all activities.
Grid Connection & Technical Leadership
Lead and manage the DSO grid connection process for all Swedish projects.
Act as NW’s main interface with Svenska Kkraftnät, regional DSOs, and relevant grid authorities.
Ensure compliance with Swedish grid codes, technical standards, and regulatory requirements.
Become NW’s reference expert for grid connection processes in Sweden.
Proactively resolve grid-related challenges and optimize connection terms.
Stakeholder Engagement and Negotiations
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including investors, landowners, municipalities, DSOs, suppliers, and energy market participants.
Lead and support negotiations of contracts, partnerships, and land agreements.
Represent NW in industry forums, business environments, and with regulatory bodies.
Support the establishment of local O&M partnerships and contractor frameworks.
Regulatory Compliance and Market Intelligence
Monitor and analyze Swedish electricity market trends, regulatory developments, and competitive dynamics.
Ensure all activities comply with national legislation, energy market rules, and applicable standards.
Engage with industry associations and regulatory bodies to anticipate changes and represent NW’s interests.

Your profile
Proven experience in the Swedish electricity market, including knowledge of regulations, grid processes, and key stakeholders.
Track record in energy project development (BESS, renewables, or related infrastructure).
Hands-on experience with DSO grid connection processes in Sweden.
Passion for renewable energy and the energy transition.
Analytical, proactive, and detail-oriented mindset.
Comfortable with public speaking and stakeholder engagement.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Languages: Swedish and English (French is a plus).
Based in or willing to relocate to Stockholm, Sweden.
Valid driving license required.
